Fernweh Film House
Brand Design
Earthy, Adventurous, Intimate
Jimmy reached out to me when he was ready to shift from his newer wedding videography business to a business founded in his true passions of travel, passion, and adventure, leading to Fernweh Film House. When Jimmy was working through his brand identity workbook, he told me that deciding not to invest in a videographer for his own wedding led him to put his skills towards a career that also brings others happiness. His words HIT ME HARD and I find them so worthy to share.
“I’ll never get to hear the way our voices cracked as we said our vows”
When designing Jimmy’s brand, it was important that we captured the shift in his target audience from weddings to intimate ceremonies and elopements across the Midwest and Pacific Northwest. Jimmy and his wife had also just finished renovating a van to be their traveling home to all of their adventures, whether they be adventures for other couples or themselves. So, of course I HAD to incorporate his van in his brand design, along with illustrations of nature. A big part of Jimmy’s personal brand is bringing peace to the epic experience, and I feel like the design represents just that. With muted colors and textured fonts, we have a homey adventure and a story of intimate and passionate love.
“Working with Nichole was really easy. She took my scattered mess and made it into something I can be proud of. Her process was extensive but so helpful. She was able to take my values and ideals and create concise copy for my brand. I’m terrible with words, but she blew my mind with what she could gather from her workbook.
If you are in the market for a brand designer, I highly recommend Nichole Wheeler. One of the best in the industry”
